ICA Peru supports national reconstruction following floods

The Institute of Cultural Affairs in Peru (ICA-Perú) is currently involved with activities for reconstruction on the national level, after the floods caused by the phenomenon of the “Niño Costero.” We are presently at the phase whereby we define the people most affected and how we are going to work with the Plan of National Reconstruction that the Government will undertake. Our interest is to select and support the communities that are the most affected, and help them find the best way to help themselves to rebuild the infrastructure damaged in its territory. This should include the interests of the inhabitants, and what the future demands.

Gloria Santos and Pedro Agurto have been in Chimbote, visiting the people of Rinconada, a town terribly affected by the floods in our country. This is one of the places we are planning to assist.

What is the best way to make a donation to support this work? Once again ICA Peru demonstrates the ability to serve those in great need. Congratulations.

    • Thanks Jane, I have forwarded you’re comment to Jesusa Aburto of ICA Peru http://www.ica-international.org/ica-worldwide/ica-peru/

Thank you Jane for your interest in supporting our work in La Rinconada. This people have lost everything! The total population of the village is 5200 inhabitants. The construction of the temporary homes for families devastated after these natural disasters is a priority for ICA-Peru, because winter is coming. We have committed to supporting La Rinconada and its 9 annexes, with an integral participatory reconstruction. We are so grateful with your willingness to help. Your can send your donation to an account in Banco INTERBANK – Cuenta Corriente en Dólares #2963077189459
We will keep in touch and inform you what the people in La Rinconada will accomplish with your contribution.
