At the center of the ICA philosophy is the belief that every one of us – no matter where we come from – has a role to play in human history. Authentic participation unlocks this potential.

Every day, around the world, ICA unlocks the potential of people who didn’t realize they could bend history.

Meet the women of Lampa, Chile * the association of vegetable wholesalers in Lima, Peru * a neglected community near Pune, India * residents of the Fergana Valley that borders Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan * the landless families sheltered in the Ghoramara Asrayan Prokalpa Area in Chandpur, Bangladesh * students and teachers of Djougou, Benin * the forest communities in Ghana’s Western Region * more than 1500 youth in Johannesburg, South Africa * the Oganiru Women’s Society in Igbo-Eze, Nigeria….

Giving to the ICA unlocks your potential to support these people who may be a world away but, like you, wish simply to realize dreams of a better future for themselves, their families, their communities, and the world.

You can make this happen. Whether you can give a little or a lot, your dollars are maximized to their fullest potential in pursuit of the ICA vision of comprehensive community development everywhere.

If you want to see this vision become a reality, become one of the 350 new member supporters sought by the end of 2007. All members will receive a complimentary copy of the digitally re-mastered 30th anniversary DVD edition of The World of Human Development featuring Ben Kingsley and original footage from ten countries, plus surprise footage!

In addition to media and archival projects, your gift will support:

  • Global Training Program for National ICA Staff

Residential training for ICA directors, program managers, and administrators, with focus on ICA history, development philosophy, and methodologies – as well as general operations management and resource development.

  • Task Forces on the priority areas of HIV/AIDS, Youth Participation, and Forest Conservation and Rights

Task forces working to articulate the unique role and impact of the ICA approach in addressing these development challenges, in order to source global funding for advanced programming worldwide.

A Global Scholarships Fund to assist development practitioners, scholars, and students from developing countries, who cannot otherwise participate in the conference.

And much more!

If you have already joined or renewed your membership this year, thank you. If you became a member last year and need to renew, please do so now. If you can give above the basic membership level, please give as generously as you can. Making a commitment to a Giving Circle will sustain the mission of ICA into the future.

The mission of ICA is too huge and too urgent for any of us to wait on the sidelines for others to step forward. The moment for change and action on behalf of the future is now.
