Environmental Protection

Environmental conservation and awareness projects in the Toumodi region during 2006 resulted in five villages now lit with solar power, as well as two solar water heaters operating in the Toumodi hospital.

Sustainable Agriculture

A group of 35 women from the region of Bahaikro learned methods for sustainable vegetable cultivation through ICA Côte d’Ivoire’s sustainable agriculture programs during 2006. In addition, young farmers from the Brobo region learned techniques for cashew nut planting.

Health Promotion

ICA Côte d’Ivoire works with 70 families in the Brobo region to organize themselves in order to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, targeting young girls and teaching them about the dangers of risky behavior. ICA Côte d’Ivoire also coordinated an awareness campaign in 2006 about the availability and reduced cost of anti-retro viral drugs, as well as Voluntary Counseling and Testing facilities.
