Brief summary: EHIO – Farhang va Tarakkiyot is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political voluntary organization located in Khujand city in the north of Tajikistan in Central Asia.

In 2001 the organization was registered as PO “EHIO – ICA: EHIO.” In 2007 it was re-registered in accordance with the Republic of Tajikistan Law on Public Organizations and changed its name to "EHIO – Farhang va Tarakkiyot; (Farhang in Russian means culture, and tarakkiyot – means development). In October 2009 Public Organization “EHIO – Farhang va Tarakkiyot” was re-registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan as a republican Public Organization. The organization has opened and registered a branch in Kurgan-Tube (Khatlon oblast, south of Tajikistan).
EHIO – Farhang va Tarakkiyot is a Provisional Statutory Member of ICA International, the international network of ICA organizations in more than 35 countries around the world. The headquarters of ICA International are located in Montreal, Canada. EHIO – Farhang va Tarakkiyot in Tajikistan is the first and only ICA in the territory of post-soviet countries.

Assistance in the improvement of the quality of life for vulnerable sectors of the population, development of communities and organizations of Tajikistan, capacity building through training, and facilitation of Technology of Participation, as well as rendering social services for making positive social changes in the Republic of Tajikistan.
