HIV/AIDS Prevention and Awareness

ICA Togo implements an ongoing program to improve HIV/AIDS sensitisation in rural communities, with an emphasis on prevention. ICA Togo also works to raise awareness of the need to support vulnerable populations who face a high risk of HIV infection, like young women and orphans.

Community Health

During 2006, ICA Togo facilitated the installation of first aid boxes in two rural communities. The process involved dialogue with local women’s groups about community healthcare needs and training in management of communal first aid boxes.

Environmental Protection

ICA Togo collaborates with various groups to plant trees throughout Togo, supplying two communities with saplings that have grown into about 1,200 trees in 2006.

Rural Economic Development

 ICA Togo contributes to poverty alleviation and food security in rural areas by supporting farmers in order to diversify their sources of income.
