About us

Nairobi Community Organisation Consultants (NCOC Ltd.) was registered in November 2009 under the Companies Act. The company was established by two community development workers from Kenya. The two community development workers had worked previously with COC Ltd with a development planning specialist from The Netherlands who left the company.

Our Mission

The overall aim of NCOC is to assist rural development projects and programmes to increase the sustainability of their interventions and their impact at the community level.

Our Values

NCOC is committed to assist in the transformation of local initiatives into viable projects. We work with community members and their leaders to analyze the existing situation, problems, available resources and development opportunities using participatory rural/urban appraisal methods. We assist local people to set priorities and to play an active role in the preparation and implementation of development projects, using participatory planning methods. We believe that management of such projects at the community level is possible and provide training and follow-up support in the field to local groups, to ensure that the necessary capacity is in place for effective operation and maintenance of projects.
